Our Mission
MedBank, a nonprofit enterprise, strives to improve the quality-of-life and collective health and well-being of the communities it serves. To that end, the organization provides access to vital medications to patients who, for a variety of socioeconomic reasons, otherwise could not obtain them.
By working independently and collaborating with local partners, MedBank connects individuals to life-sustaining medications—helping hundreds avoid the difficult choice between paying for rent, food, or their health.
Founded in 1992 within the Chatham County Health Department, MedBank has since expanded to serve nine counties across Georgia: Chatham, Effingham, Liberty, Bryan, Bulloch, Toombs, Long, Wayne, and McIntosh.
From 2005 to 2024, we’ve provided more than $36.7+ million in free prescription medications.
In addition to our core services, MedBank actively participates in community outreach—attending local events, leading educational workshops on health and mental wellness, and connecting residents with essential resources.
Our annual Benefit Reception & Concert is MedBank’s largest fundraiser, supporting our mission to ensure no one goes without the medication they need to live a healthier life.
